Decoding the Trend of Hot Pink for Spring-Summer 2021
This year, the ramps are experiencing a revolt of trends and styles that are going bigger and louder than ever. After going subtle for a year with face masks and work-from-home looks, fashion runways are all set to have a pawri with fabulous styles, colour combos and clothing. We all had to depend upon comfortable, chic basics and neutral colour palettes for over a year-long, enjoying our days with luxurious loungewear and easy-peasy dresses in sombre tones. But enough is enough, and now the idols of style have decided that your wardrobes are overdue a little fun.
Fashionistas are clear about the
vibes of spring-summer 2021 that apparels and accessories this year are going
to be joyful and extravagant. We couldn't agree more. Plenty of anti-neutral
colour trends are going viral, but our favourite (and maybe yours too) is the
trend of hot pink. This fantastic colour trend was spotted everywhere on the
runways of S/S 21 and has already made its way into street styles and on-screen
fashion sets, so it has been predicted to be the defining shade for the upcoming
seasons. It's definitely a vibrant retreat from the neutrals that have been
ruling our closets for the past few seasons, and every fashion lover is ready
to welcome it into their wardrobes.
On the Ramps
The shade of new hot pink was
visible almost everywhere on the runways around the world, and we cannot blame
the stylists and designers for loving it too much. From dresses to pantsuits,
from trousers to shirts or all those head-to-toe looks, everything got dipped
in some pink drama that made the ramps look like it was designed for the 'pink
ladies' of Grease. The hot pink made an appearance on almost all other season
trends, from colour-blocked to joyful dresses, from the power pantsuit trend to
the puffed-up tend. Big brands took this hue's help to display their amazing
collections based on the latest trend like relaxed trousers, sharp shoulder
coats, puffed sleeves, flowy dresses, etc. All head-to-toe looks in pink got
extra attention, and we are craving to try out the same sooner.
Not just clothing, pink showed up
in shoes, bags, scarfs, belts, jewellery, and other accessories. Designers
incorporated this shade into plenty of fun combos to highlight their
accessorizing in a fun way. In case you are thinking about the significant
shades that come under this millennial pink trend, then here's your answer –
hot pink or bright pink, bubblegum pink, raspberry sorbet, fuchsia fedora, pale
rosette, magnetic magenta, and taffy. Runways witnessed these hues in
all-possible playful combinations and silhouettes.
On the Streets and OTT
Pink has always been favourite
for us ladies, and we cannot imagine our wardrobe without it. For those who are
not a big fan of pink, the mild shades can give a tiny feminine touch to their
minimal outfits. However, the streets and wardrobes have been taken over by the
bright pink now. Fashion influencers have already started flaunting the hot
pink shade in the various way they can, and one cannot blame these fashion
beauties for looking like candy.
Many celebs from overseas are rolling
on this shade of beauty while walking the streets and the red carpet. We have
seen Lady Gaga in a hot pink gown for her new Valentino ad. And not to mention,
this hue has always been Nicki Minaj's favourite shade for her clothes and her
hair. We have also seen Taylor Swift featuring all the millennial pink shades
in her 'Calm Down' music video. On the home front, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja can be
seen still reminiscing about her Filmfare Award 2019 gala look in a fluffy hot pink coutour dress. Priyanka Chopra Jonas is flaunting some of the famous pink
shades too on the covers of Marie Claire Spring 2021 edition with just some
dangling lightweight earrings and sleek hairdos. Divya Khosla Kumar is a pro in
wearing the baby pink shades, and in her latest song promotion, she is seen
wearing a short strappy dress in bubblegum pink with beige knee-length
boots.
Daily Styling
If you wish to style these pink
shades in your outfits, you can go all the way to the road of fashion, as it
can be dressed down minimally and can be put up as an elaborate ensemble. You
can either choose the head-to-toe look in pink or colour block it with orange,
red or other complementing shades. A hot pink puffy dress is all you need for
an upcoming party with a pair of dazzling diamond hoops and black heels. A
taffy pink coat or jacket can amp your entire outfit. For fitness lovers, match
a pair of bubblegum pink sweatpants with white tees and a yellow jacket. Your
shopping or date look can include a fuchsia skirt and a black or white top. For
your vacation look, a pink jumpsuit or a pair of pink wide-leg trousers with a
white shirt can look fab with the trending white pearl hoop earrings. Another
terrific way to pull off this trend is by sticking to an all-neutral look and
adding a pop of pink with one standout piece.
If not in clothing, you can
include this trend in your accessories and jewellery too. A pink satchel or a
clutch can look classy with any dress you pick for a casual party. A pair of
high heel pink stilettoes are all ladies' favourite to keep in the closet and
wear on perfect occasions. A couple of pink sneakers can be pretty cute for
your workout sessions. Want more attention? Try hot pink knee-length boots in
that shiny material. For jewellery, pink can come in a variety of avatars. But
to wear something precious, opt for rose gold jewellery to include that mild
pink into your daily wear jewellery pieces. You can also pick the gold
jewellery pieces with a pink enamel coating on them, and they can make your
attire look pretty and bubbly.
